  • 3.5 ounces (100 grams) of Dark roast coffee beans
  • 24.69 ounces (700 grams) of water
  • Heavy cream to taste


  1. Weigh 3.5 ounces (100 grams) of dark roast coffee beans.
  2. Mill the coffee beans on a coarse setting. Use a coarser setting than you’d use to make French press coffee.
  3. Mix 3.5 ounces (100 grams) of ground coffee with 24.69 ounces (700 grams) of water (room temperature) in a one-liter French press.
  4. Whisk the grounds until they are wet consistently.  
  5. Allow the coffee to sit at room temperature for a minimum of 16 hours.
  6. Push the French press nozzle to sieve the coffee.
  7. For a cleaner cold brew concentrate, use a paper filter to sieve the coffee (optional).
  8. Put two large ice cubes into a glass and gradually fill the glass to about halfway.
  9. Add heavy cream to taste. It is advisable to keep the cold brew and heavy cream ratio under 1:1.
  10. Store any surplus cold brew in a mason jar in the refrigerator. You can store it for up to two weeks.
